MESSAGES FROM THE CO-CHAIRMEN
MESSAGE FROM Edward Coryell
Executive Secretary-Tresurer/Business Manager
Carpenters Regional Council of Philadelphia & Vicinity
Co-Chairman, Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee
When you are accepted into an Apprenticeship with the Carpenters Union, you will be at our Training Center basically one day a week during the term of your Apprenticeship. While there, you're going to learn one of the branches of the Carpenters Trade.

You will find your Instructors are some of the best and most dedicated teachers you've ever had. You'll also get to know your fellow-Apprentices. You will share Course Work with them, and you will begin friendships that will last the rest of your life.

Even after you finish your Apprenticeship, you will be able to attend our Training Center at night for Journeyperson Courses, which will help you to advance in your new career. You will be surprised to find out how much there is to learn, and how many courses we make available to you.

Of course, you will also learn the priceless knowlege of a Carpenter's challenging and rewarding skill, which will last you a lifetime and help you make a living at your chosen Trade.

You will also find that our Journeyperson Carpenters are good teachers on the job-site...and they are willing to help you learn their Trade. All you have to do is work hard and give it your best when you are serving your Apprenticeship.

I wish you luck in becoming one of our Apprentices. After you have been accepted, I look forward to talking to you at the School.

You will find that our Training Facility is a great place to build a foundation for a rewarding career in a great field...as a Union Carpenter in the Construction Industry.

Fraternally,

Edward Coryell

MESSAGE FROM James X. Clemens
Chairman, Clemens Construction Co.
Trustee of the UBC Health & Safety and Apprenticeship & Training Funds of North America
Vice-Chairman of Frankford Hospital
Co-Chairman, Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee
It is a rare honor to be able to offer something to young people that is so positive and well-respected...and that can have so great an impact on their futures. That's the way everyone associated with the Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee feels about the program we offer at our state-of-the-art Training Center.

When Young men and women join our programs they become part of something bigger than they could have imagined.

They are taught by professional Instructors who are committed to getting the most out of their skills. They are supported by a group of Building Contractors who believe in the Program enough that they will invest part of their companies' profits in it.

New members have the backing of an entire Union of Skilled Tradespeople    and Union Officials who have gone through exactly what the new Apprentices are going through.

But the thing that surprises our new Apprentices the most is how much they like the Program. That's becuase many of them were used to having uninteresting jobs. Joining a branch of the Trade within the Carpenters Union is much more important. It's staking a claim for your future.

And we welcome you...because it's our future too.

Sincerely,

James X. Clemens
