Our
Annual Contest / Open House
Was held Friday, May
6, 2011 from 8AM to 5PM
The contest and open house
featured tours of the facility, the Apprentice Skills Contest and Construction
Exhibits.
Fourth year apprentices competed
in the competition by performing a construction project which was not known
to them until the contest. The contestants where selected from the graduating
apprentices who scored the highest on a written test. Winners in the general
carpentry, interior systems carpentry, floor layer, mill/cabinetmaker and
millwright categories where selected on the basis of craftsmanship, neatness,
and excellence. |
| In addition
to our Contest, we also held the Annual Carpenters and Architects Training
Together (CATT) Contest, which integrates the collective skills and talents
of apprentices, contractors, and architects in bringing a strong design
concept to life. |
