National
Recognition
It's not just local builders and tradespeople who understand the outstanding
quality of the Union's Training Center. It has earned a national reputation
for excellence in training, and the facilities are seen as one of the finest
of its kind in the country.
Periodically, the Associated General Contractors of America sponsor a competition
among trade training centers around the country. The reason for the contest
is to recognize local efforts to develop and ecourage the "highest standards
and quality for craft training within the construction industry."
In 1997, the AGC recognized the excellence of the Training Center of the
Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee of Philadelphia and Vicinity.
At the national convention in Washington D.C., representatives from our
Training Center received a beautiful plaque and a cash award.
The AGC judged the Center on its curriculum, Instructors, hours of instruction,
breadth of courses, teaching aids, testing, motivational programs, and
the success of the graduates in national competitions. The Philadelphia
Training Center was considered outstanding in every category. |
