ABOUT APPRENTICESHIPS
Apprenticeships offer young people the opportunity for a secure and well-paid career in the Building trades. The ancient tradition of Apprenticeships allows new workers to get paid while going to school, and to get hands-on training at the job of their choice...on the job-site. Apprenticeships are one of the benefits of a strong Labor Movement in this country.

This web site gives you all the information you should need to apply for an Apprenticeship offered through the Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee of Philadelphia and Vicinity.

There are six separate types of jobs covered by apprenticeships at our Training Center, and all are equally important.

You might already know the career you're interested in. Maybe a relative or friend is a member and has told you about the work. If not, this site will tell you about the jobs, the requirements, and the training.

The training takes place in some of the most modern instructional facilities anywhere. The Instructors are all experienced professionals in their Specialties. If you are accepted into our Apprenticeship Program, you will be employed by a Union Contractor. When you are not in class at the training facility, you will be practicing what you learn by working for your employer on the job.
